Replacement charge standard. Where a replacement value is not published, the replacement charge is the current retail replacement cost plus applicable administrative, collection and delivery expenses.

Assessment principles

  • Ordinary wear and tear is not chargeable.
  • Repairable damage may be charged at the reasonable repair cost instead of full replacement.
  • Lost, stolen, destroyed, contaminated or commercially unusable equipment may be charged at the replacement schedule.
  • Loss, misuse, unauthorized modification, contamination and damage beyond normal use may result in replacement or cleaning charges.
  • Lifting and securing equipment that has been overloaded, cut, abraded, knotted or modified is removed from service and charged as a replacement.
  • Equipment must be returned in substantially the same condition, reasonable wear excepted.
  • The customer remains responsible for equipment from delivery acceptance until completed pickup and reconciliation.
  • Disputes should be supported by delivery/pickup counts, photographs, scanning records and written incident notes.
